About
The Operator
I'm Tony, a software and electronic engineering professional based in the Omaha metro area. I review GMRS equipment, write about radio topics, and contribute to open-source radio software.
CHIRP Contributions
I'm an occasional contributor to CHIRP, the free, open-source radio programming tool. My driver contributions are routinely accepted into the project. To be clear: I am not officially affiliated with CHIRP in any capacity. CHIRP is an open volunteer project with its own maintainers and community — I'm just one of many contributors.
See the CHIRP compatibility list for which radios in our inventory are supported. If you have a GMRS radio that isn't in CHIRP and you'd like a driver written for it, get in touch. I can often write a driver if you're able to provide the radio for testing.

Radio Reviews
If you're a manufacturer or vendor and you'd like me to write about your radio on this site, feel free to reach out. I can provide honest, technically-oriented coverage if you're able to provide a unit for review.
Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on this site — particularly product links on equipment pages — are affiliate links. If you purchase something through one of these links, I may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. This helps support the site and the time I spend testing and writing about radios.
I personally own and use every radio listed on this site. I will never give a dishonest review or recommendation. If I don't think a radio is worth buying, I'll say so.
On the Air
I can often be reached on the Bellevue 600 repeater in the Omaha metro area. You can find details about the repeater on RepeaterBook and myGMRS.
